Rostov Region Innovative Light Industry Cluster: From Polymer Yarn to Finished Product
The Don Cluster of Innovative Light Industry, established on the basis of the BTK Group companies, implements the only full-cycle project in Russia for the production of synthetic textiles: from polymer yarn manufacturing to the finished product. The cluster is included in the Register of Industrial Clusters of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation (Order of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia No. 4739 dated October 14, 2024).

The cluster's annual production volume is equivalent to 16% of Russia's synthetic fabric imports. This represents a significant contribution to reducing dependence on foreign supplies and strengthening the country's technological security.

This achievement was made possible by the systematic development of a closed-loop technological production chain. The cluster is expanding its own production of webbing and has mastered the manufacturing of polyamide and polyester yarns, which were previously not produced in Russia. This has helped eliminate one of the "bottlenecks" of the domestic textile industry: dependence on imported raw materials. The next stage is the launch of mass production of fasteners and hardware (such as zippers) at the end of the current year, which will substitute another imported component and complete the formation of the closed-loop cycle.

The cluster's companies widely employ modern integrated "capsule" solutions for product manufacturing, covering the entire production cycle. This ranges from the development and production of materials with specified properties and the sourcing of necessary hardware, to advanced sewing technologies and the final output of products that fully meet customer requirements.

The quality of the final products is evidenced by their high demand across key industrial sectors. The manufactured goods are utilized in the oil and gas, mining, aviation, and medical industries, as well as for the production of workwear, sports apparel, and clothing for tourism and outdoor recreation. Enterprises in strategic sectors now have a reliable Russian supplier independent of sanctions-related restrictions. This enhances the resilience of integrated industrial and inter-industrial production chains and ensures the strengthening of the technological sovereignty of the domestic light industry.
